Policies and Website Disclaimer

The policies below relate to conference registration and the information that we collect during the registration process.  Below the policies is a website disclaimer that governs the use of our websites.

Conference Policies

Refund Policy  

Refund requests for the 2019 conference must be made in writing to ISPD Headquarters on or prior to 31 July 2019. A 75% refund of the Conference and workshops registration fees shall be given for cancellations received on or prior to 31 July 2019.  No refunds shall be made after 31 July 2019. No refunds shall be made to individuals who attend a portion of the conference. No refunds shall be made for cancellations due to inclement weather. ISPD reserves the right to substitute faculty, or cancel or reschedule sessions because of low enrollment or other circumstances. If ISPD must cancel the conference in its entirety due to circumstances beyond the control of ISPD (including but not limited to, acts of God, war, terrorism, failure of transportation, weather, accidents, fires, electrical failures, strikes, labor disputes, postal delays, explosions, and government orders or regulations), ISPD may refund the appropriate registration fees to conference registrants; no refunds shall be made for travel expenses related to the conference. Attendees who purchase non-refundable airline tickets do so at their own risk.

Substitution Policy

If you find that you are unable to attend preconference workshops or the Conference, you are welcome to send a colleague in your place. There is no fee to make this change up to 8 July 2019. Registration substitutions after 8 July 2019 shall be charged a $55.00 processing fee.

Returned Check Policy  

Remittance must be made in U.S. Dollars. A $25.00 surcharge may be assessed to cover any collection fees.

Important Payment Note

The registration form must be accompanied by your credit card information or check in full payment of registration fees and events.  All non-U.S. registrants shall be charged the U.S. Dollar equivalent at the time the charge is processed, unless otherwise indicated. To qualify for early registration rates, your registration form and payment must be faxed, e-mailed or postmarked by 22 July 2019 (do not e-mail credit card information).

Refunds in case of Emergency

If an attendee is unable to attend the preconference workshops or the Conference based on serious illness or death (of self or a family member), a partial refund (amount paid minus a $55 processing charge) may be granted.  Requestors shall submit the request in writing to ISPD Headquarters.  The Program Chair(s) shall review the request to ensure it is in accordance with written policy.  No refunds shall be granted for cancelled or missed flights and/or inclement weather.

Exhibitors

Exhibitors are subject to the same refund and substitution policies above. They do not qualify for the emergency refund policy because an exhibiting organization can send a different representative if the original representative is unable to attend.

Media Attendance

The Program Committee may issue press passes to representatives of news media outlets that ISPD solicits to attend its meeting and/or approves on a case-by-case basis.

  • While ISPD receives sponsorship from exhibitors of various different companies for the annual conference and has a mechanism for corporate membership, ISPD does not have detailed knowledge of internal business activities of those companies that become corporate members or support the annual conference. Corporate membership or industry sponsorship does not constitute an endorsement on behalf of ISPD of the practices and business of individual sponsors or corporate members. If ISPD learns about confirmed unethical behavior by sponsors or members, this will be cause for termination of sponsorship or membership.
